7K a year Overview SCCI is looking for a motivated Technical Editor that will provide technical editing functions to our Documentation Configuration Management team.
The successful Candidate will run document review cycles and be responsible for ensuring final documentation is in line with Government approved standards.
This position is available immediately and is located in Dahlgren, VA.
Responsibilities:
Organize required technical and business material using word processing software per established Government standards with respect to order, style, terminology and sequencing Perform meeting support functions; accurately capture/distribute highlights, minutes and action items Prepare correspondence, plans, and reports for assigned program(s) and customer(s) Maintain data records and libraries with updated status accounting information Review documentation and recommend revisions or changes in format, and dissemination; Maintain standards for publications Consult with technical team leads and subject-matter experts to ensure common understanding of documentation and related materials to be produced Periodically audit and review publications to determine whether format or content changes/updates are required; Meet with subject-matter experts for concurrence as to content changes Remains current on new developments in technical writing, editing and publishing, including technological enhancements Assists in preparing material for technical briefs and meetings; May be called upon to assist in technical or business presentations in such meetings as business or customer needs require Represent the CM team at program meetings ensuring that CM concerns are communicated and impacts to CM are brought back for issue resolution Perform equipment, software and/or documentation audits and develop audit reports Assist in the development and maintenance of CM processes and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) Essential Skills and
Experience:

Citizen and have an Active Secret Security Clearance Minimum of 3 years technical editing experience required Understanding of the 5 Functional Areas of CM which include the following:
Configuration Planning, Configuration Control, Configuration identification, Configuration Status Accounting, Configuration Audit Proficient with Adobe, MS Word, and Power Point Ability to collect data from difference sources and pull information from reports Ability to work independently and effectively communicate within a team environment and across organizational levels to include co-workers, managers, and government customers Must have excellent written communication skills, working knowledge of word processing and integrated software applications, and organizational skills Must have great attention to detail and be able to perform detail-oriented work Preferred Skills and
Experience:
3 - 5 years of DoD technical editing experience Bachelor's Degree in English or Journalism Possess excellent organizational, time management, and problem solving skills Experience with Advanced Configuration Control and Engineering Status System (ACCESS) and/or VIEWNet SCCI is committed to providing a comprehensive and competitive benefits package to meet the needs of Employees and their families.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
